Green city life

How do we build the city of tomorrow? One that combines the benefits of the countryside with the advantages of the urban world? Manon and François, two young city dwellers, traveled between Mexico, Europe, and the US in search of concrete and revolutionary initiatives at every scale that bring nature back to the heart of cities. Accompanied by associations, business leaders, and city experts, they provide inspiring ideas to propel cities into the 21st Century: from revegetation to urban farming and bio-waste recovery. By making the link between all these solutions, they offer us their vision of what the green city of tomorrow could be, calling on government, private companies, and citizens to take action.

Fashion designer Amy Powney of cult label Mother of Pearl is a rising star in the London fashion scene. Raised off-the-grid in rural England by activist parents, Amy has always felt uneasy about the devastating environmental impact of her industry. When she wins the coveted Vogue award for the Best Young Designer of the Year, which comes with a big cash prize, Amy decides to use the money to create a sustainable collection from field to finished garment, and transform her entire business. Over the following three years, her own personal revolution becomes the precursor of a much bigger, societal change.
SYNOPSISES:
  • Terroir to Table (France, Denmark, 2022, 81 min)
Wine is so much more than the drink in the bottle. Wine is work, passion, feeling and experience, sociability and opening of all senses. "Terroir – An enjoyable journey into the world of wine” takes us through vineyards and wine cellars, into the best starred kitchens and restaurants, where dedicated experts are looking for the perfect pairing of wine and good food. We meet people from the fields of viticulture, wine trade and microbiology who analyze the conditions that make a wine what it is: unique and individually experienceable. They explore every corner from the ground to the finished wine and take us behind the scenes. "Terroir" is a loving dedication to enjoyment.

The French word “terroir” is literally translated as "area". In the wine language, "terroir" stands for the entire natural environment in which a wine is produced. This ambience includes elements such as soils, climate and topography.
  • Bigger than us (France, 2021, 95 min)
The film tells the journey of Melati Wijsen, who decides to go around the globe to meet her peers, young activists just like her, who already have managed to have a huge impact in their fields thanks to their convictions and determination. Melati can feel that the clock is ticking and that change is too slow. She wants, she needs to understand what is preventing change. To join forces. And to come up with her new plan.
